Breezy
Pafos is experiencing a building phase but visitors can still find places to
stay that are not part of packaged tours. The Fort of Pafos (top right) guards
the entry into the port. Tourists shops and services are located along Posidonos
Blvd (top center) which provide a welcome break from the fun in the sun at the
hotel pools and beaches. When dark falls, Pafos turns into a haven of international
restaurants and night clubs that burn late into the night.
Once
called the wild west of Cyprus, Pafos is now considered one of the Republic's
most livable cities. The city is divided into three sections with resort facilities
located along the coastline in Kato Pafos. Nearby Nea Pafos is an ancient city
containing many historical sites open to visitors. Ano Pafos is the modern portion
of the city two km up the hillside from the beaches.
